Teachers Helping Teachers

Useful Teacher Websites:

Great Site For: Parent/Teacher Communication and Involvement and Everyday Lesson Plans, Books About Teaching

Mrs. Nelson’s website has a great page for parents. She even includes a classroom handbook that helps to answer many questions parents typically have about Kindergarten. She also includes a short bio that includes her philosophy on teaching. I think this is a great idea for fellow teachers to include on their websites. Mrs. Nelson’s website also has a section for educators. There are great links to help teachers with classroom management, centers, units and activities, classroom behavior and curriculum, family involvement and so much more! She also provides some personal book choices for classroom management, curriculum, and behavior. Another great section on her site is the part where she connects other teacher to an opportunity to create their own website.

Great Site For: Discipline, Classroom Management, Lesson Ideas, and Printables

It’s hard to pin point just one great aspect of this website. The website has so many areas for teachers to explore. Some of my favorites are the classroom management page, the file and documents section, and the teacher resource tab. In the classroom management folder the teacher has some great ideas as far as class discipline goes. She uses the GOLD standard, this is a fun and effective method for keeping students on track in regards to classroom behavior. The file and documents section houses some great ideas for the basic sections of learning. For example math, science, social studies, art, holidays, etc. The teacher resource tab has tons of links for teacher. All kinds – anything from resources, printables, shopping websites for classroom goodies!

Great Site For: Organization, Technology, Center Set Up, Classroom Rules, and Schedules.

Any new teacher would love this website. Looking for assessment forms, ways to organize your classroom and documents using technology tools? Then you’ve come to the right site! This site is dedicated to aiding preschool teachers with the day to day tasks. The website also offers so many resources for teachers. I absolutely love this website. You could spend the whole day exploring it. The website also includes tips for centers, ideas for preparing for the first day of school, ways to communicate with parents and much more. If you’re looking for free printables and curriculum ideas you won’t be disappointed. They include ideas for math, literacy, science, art and fine motor.

Great Site For: English Language Learners, Multicultural Classroom, Assessment, Parent/Teacher Involvement and Communication and Workshops

Another great site! This site has a little of everything. If you have students in your classroom who are just learning the English language this site has some great resources and suggestions for you. There is a section about the importance of music for early childhood students. Not many other sites give such great support to music. The website provides great recommendations for materials to purchase for your classroom for all the themes you could think of. No more spending hours searching for resources this website has it already for you. Another great aspect of this website is the workshop section. She provides teacher with opportunities to sign up for one of her workshops. There are many topics to chose from and she will travel to a variety of states.

  1. Aliesha,
What I like about PreKinders is that it has a variety of resources for Pre-K teachers. It gives the teachers a lot of good ideas and activities to implement in their classroom that will enhance students learning and skills. I also like the idea of the prop box and the Christian resource with activities and ideas for young children. I will be definitely using some of these ideas and activities in my classroom.

  2. Aliesha, I really enjoyed looking at the website of Ms.Winston. I fell in love with her STAR Binders. I feel that it teaches the students responsibility and helps to keep communication open with the parents on a daily basis. Once the communication is open then any concerns that I might have as a teacher about the child's development will be so much easier to introuce to the parent. I am going to use some of her ideas in my classroom as well, I will have to change it a little becasue I have preschool age children but I still love the concept. Thanks for sharing.
